Round Rock remains among safest cities in America, study finds
Round Rock ranks as the No. 26 safest City in America for 2025, according to a new study by personal finance website MoneyGeek.
To assess the safest cities, MoneyGeek analyzed crime data, including violent crimes such as murder, rape and aggravated assault, and property crimes such as home burglary and motor vehicle theft. MoneyGeek calculated each city’s cost of crime and ranked the cities based on the cost of crime per capita. Additionally, researchers have quantified how much more violent crimes cost a community than property crimes.
Round Rock’s “societal cost of crime per resident” was $575, significantly lower than the national average of $2,178. The analysis pairs reported crime statistics with existing academic research on the societal costs of different types of crimes to estimate the cost of crime in each City.
In 2023, Round Rock reported 138 violent crimes per 100,000 residents and 2,156 property crimes per 100,000 residents.
Other safe Texas cities on the list include Plano (No. 18), Sugar Land (No. 20), McKinney (No. 22), Grand Prairie (No. 42), and League City (No. 48).
